Last Updated: November 19, 2025

1. Overview

Public Care Trust is committed to transparency in all financial transactions. This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the circumstances under which donations and payments can be refunded or cancelled.

2. Nature of Donations

All contributions made to Public Care Trust are considered voluntary donations made to support our charitable activities, including:

  • Widow support programs
  • Skill development initiatives
  • Scholarship programs
  • Health services
  • Financial aid programs
  • General charitable activities

3. Refund Policy

3.1 General Policy

As a charitable organization, all donations are generally considered final and non-refundable once processed. This is because funds are quickly deployed to support our ongoing programs and beneficiaries.

3.2 Exceptions for Refunds

We will consider refund requests in the following exceptional circumstances:

  • Duplicate Transactions: If the same donation was charged multiple times due to a technical error
  • Unauthorized Transactions: If a transaction was made without your authorization (subject to verification)
  • Technical Errors: If an incorrect amount was charged due to a system malfunction
  • Payment Gateway Errors: If funds were debited but the transaction failed on our end

3.3 Non-Refundable Scenarios

Refunds will NOT be provided in the following cases:

  • Change of mind after making a donation
  • Dissatisfaction with how funds are utilized (funds are used as per our stated objectives)
  • Donations made more than 7 days ago
  • Donations for which tax exemption certificates have been issued

4. Refund Process

  3. Provide the following information:
    • Full name and contact information
    • Transaction ID / Reference number
    • Date and amount of transaction
    • Reason for refund request
    • Supporting documentation (if applicable)

  • Credit to Account: Refunds will be credited to the original payment method within 5-7 business days after processing

5. Cancellation Policy

5.1 One-Time Donations

One-time donations cannot be cancelled once the payment is processed. However, you may request a refund as per the conditions outlined in Section 3.

5.2 Recurring Donations

If you have set up recurring donations, you may cancel future donations at any time by:

  • Contacting us at contact@publiccaretrust.org.in
  • Requesting cancellation at least 3 business days before the next scheduled donation
  • Providing your donor ID and email address for verification

Note: Cancellation will apply to future donations only. Past donations are subject to the refund policy.

6. Failed Transactions

If your transaction fails but the amount has been debited from your account:

  • The amount will typically be auto-refunded by the payment gateway within 5-7 business days
  • If the amount is not credited back within 7 days, please contact us with transaction details
  • We will coordinate with the payment gateway to resolve the issue

7. Payment Gateway Policies

We use PhonePe and Razorpay as our payment gateways. Their refund policies also apply:

  • Refunds are processed through the same payment method used for the transaction
  • Payment gateway processing fees are non-refundable
  • Bank processing times may vary

8. Tax Receipts

If a tax exemption certificate (80G receipt) has been issued for your donation, you must return the original certificate to us before a refund can be processed. Refunds may affect your tax filings, and it is your responsibility to report any refunded donations to tax authorities.

9. Disputes

If you have any disputes regarding transactions, please contact us first before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We are committed to resolving all issues amicably and transparently.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.
